Stamping

Upon arrival, each roller is stamped with an alphanumeric code identifying the cylinder, client and type of processing. The code is permanent and therefore enables the tracking of all operations carried out even after various years have passed.

Rubber hardness, roller dimension, the condition of bearing housings and centres, etc. will also be assessed for rollers to must be regenerated.

Coating Removal

Many of the rollers we receive are covered in old worn-down coating, so we need to remove all traces of the previous rubber coating. We use a lathe to remove the coating from the cylinder surface and heads, if needed.

Sanding and Washing

Rollers are sanded with metal blasting to remove all traces of superficial oxidation and facilitate rubber adhesion. Our sanding plant can process cylinders with a diameter up to ø 1,200 x 10,000 mm for a maximum load of 15,000 Kg.

Afterwards, each roller is washed with solvents to remove oily traces and prepared with gluing solutions specific for each kind of mixture.

Once coated, cylinders are placed in an autoclave to be vulcanised according to strictly predetermined times and methods.
